- Welcome to Tree of India Travels

Jessica Lohrey is the founder of Tree of India, a holistic lifestyle brand that encompasses her proprietary line of aromatherapy products, the Tree of India School of Yoga, and two yoga studios in Butler County, Ohio. With more than two decades of experience as a yoga teacher, retreat leader, and entrepreneur, she is passionate about creating transformative experiences that inspire awe and deepen connection to self, others, and the world.
Jessica’s professional path began in the natural world. Before dedicating her life to yoga, she worked as a Naturalist, cultivating a deep appreciation for the rhythms and wisdom of the earth. This background continues to influence her teaching today, where she emphasizes the inseparable connection between humans and nature. She often reminds her students that we do not merely live in nature—we are nature. For Jessica, reverence for the Self, the Divine, and the living world are one and the same.
Her yoga journey has been shaped by a wide range of traditions and styles, from vinyasa to restorative and beyond. Yet it was through the practices of classical tantra and tantra hatha yoga that her own personal transformation truly soared. These teachings opened her awareness to the truth that everything is energy—flowing, shifting, and interconnected. This perspective continues to guide her work, helping students experience yoga not simply as exercise, but as a doorway into expanded awareness and a deeper sense of unity with all that is.
As a teacher, Jessica is known for her approachable yet deeply insightful style, blending philosophy, spirituality, and accessible practices that meet students right where they are. She delights in weaving yoga philosophy into posture practice, showing students that yoga is not just about what happens on the mat but about how we see and live in the world. Her classes and retreats are infused with an invitation to embody reverence: for the breath, for the body, for the earth, and for the mystery of life itself.
In addition to group classes, Jessica offers mentorship and specializes in private yoga sessions for students who wish to go deeper in their personal practice. She treasures these one-on-one relationships, where she can guide students through customized practices that support their unique journeys of growth and transformation. Many who work with her privately describe the experience as life-changing—an integration of body, mind, and spirit that ripples into every aspect of their lives.
Jessica also shares her love of travel through Tree of India Travels, curating journeys to sacred and inspiring destinations—including India, Nepal, Bhutan, and now Ecuador. Her retreats go far beyond sightseeing. Each one is designed as a true pilgrimage of the heart, blending yoga, meditation, philosophy, and cultural immersion. Participants are invited to slow down, step away from daily distractions, and reconnect with what truly matters.
When she’s not teaching or leading retreats, Jessica can be found spending time with her rescue cat, Ash, or with her love, Theodore Robert (affectionately known as TR). She enjoys hiking and listening to music—another lifelong passion that spans from industrial to bluegrass to classical Indian music and everything in between.
